Our Next Meeting

June 9th, 6-8pm, Pollard Library, downtown Lowell

Join us to discuss what actions we can take in between NO KINGS protests.

NO KINGS III

Thank you for coming together to say NO KINGS in America!

Hundreds of resisters from Lowell and surrounding towns gathered on Kerouac Park to be part of the largest protest in US history! They showed up to connect, organize, and protest in unity with millions of others across this great nation to show Trump that more people disapprove of him than approve. We will not let his regime bulldoze our democracy and destroy our country. Courage is contagious. As long as we continue to get out and voice our dissent, we will eventually turn the tide in the direction of democracy again.

Speaker list: Congresswoman Lori Trahan, Senator Vanna Howard, State Rep Tara Hong, Lt. Colonel Dan Ward (ret), Exec Director of MVP Julio Mejia, UML College Dem Dejah Gutierrez, LHS student, Jada Herring, emcee of the day Brad Buitenhuys. Music by No Planet B.

NO KINGS II

THANK YOU!

To all of you who joined us at Boarding House Park, we thank you! At least 800 of you showed up in solidarity, to not only protest the wannabe dictator in the white house, but to show love and support for you neighbors, friends, family, and community.

No Kings Day was a rousing success because of your commitment to standing up against authoritarianism through nonviolent and lawful means. They tried to paint us as violent extremists, and we showed up centering joy, some as frogs, dinosaurs, bananas and many other inventive costumes, but all of us as grandparents, parents, children, neighbors, laborers, we all see a better path for this country.

Thank you for attending our
Good Trouble Lives On Standout!

Great turnout on the 5th anniversary of Congressman John Lewis passing. He warned us of this moment. He spent the final years of his life fighting to protect the right to vote. This is our moment to carry the torch, continue his legacy, and pass it forward to future generations. This fight starts at the local level. Build local connections, take local action, and find a democracy organization that matches your passion!

Thank you for all who gathered in downtown Lowell to make it clear that we won’t be ruled by fear! You joined more than five million Americans, in over 2,100 towns and cities, to say WE DON’T DO KINGS IN AMERICA!

All told, this is shaping up to be on of the largest protest in American history! It’s at least 50% larger than the then-record-breaking April Hands Off! protest. And in addition to being notably larger, the crowds were notably diverse in age and race. It was a real demonstration of what pluralistic democracy looks like in this country.
